Sounds-day is for listening/viewing a variety of
devotional items from and for all ages and traditions.
It will not at all surprise you, after yesterday's post, to find that this week's listening is from Saint Hildegard von Bingen. Meditative chants of sublime beauty.
SAADHANA; Please consider stilling yourselves in the manner we have been using in the AUM-day exercise and instead of focus being the letters of the sound, here let the sounds provide focus. Close your eyes lightly. Measure the evenness of your breathing. When thoughts beyond the sound enter, drive them away. 'Feel' the notes, let them suffuse your being. Make no thought around them, seek not to assess, quantify, or permit yourself to drift. Simply be with the sounds.
Active listening, complete presence with the sound, will often allow us to develop our levels of anticipation of what will follow. When in full sharavanam, we will often find ourselves believing we know what the aachaarya is about to say; this is where we start to tap the Abundant Universal Mind.
