'Text-days' are for delving into the words and theory of Advaita Vedanta
Gurudev was an erudite and mesmerising speaker. Not just within in India, but around the world. We are blessed that so many of his discourses were taped both in audio and on film. Admittedly, it was at a time of lesser technology than that to which we have become accustomed. Nonetheless, we are grateful.
To begin 2015 there could be no better way, than to share some of these direct teachings. For the next three weeks, vintage film recordings of Gurudev will be here. They are of poor visual quality, but the sound is quite good (earphones certainly enhance the shravanam focus); and as the presentation was for a largely Western audience in San Francisco, Swamiji worked hard on his accent! These are general talks, with a view to outreach. You will hear lots that we have already touched upon here, some that we have not. It is your chance to 'listen carefully' (shravanam) and take notes as if at lecture. Observe timer marks where you have a question arise or a doubt pricks. Bring your questions and concerns to the comments box, or directly to Yamini-amma via the contacts box on the P-O-O-P page and include the timer mark to help in identifying where issue has arisen.
This is a great opportunity for you now to become fully participative - no question and no doubt are too small or insignificant!
