Story-day is for cultural exploration, puraanas and
parables and finding out about leading lights in spiritual philosophy.
Since
we began study of Narada Bhakti Sutra on Workings-day, as promised, here is a
synopsis of Sri Narada's own story, very sweetly done by ISKON ('Hare
Krishnas'). Watching to the end you will find mention of a parampara. This
relates to the lineal teaching tradition of the bhakti-vedanta movement; in
Advaita Vedanta we have the parampara of Sri Siva (as Naaraayana), Sir Brahma
(as Padmabhuva), Sage Vashistha, Shakti, Paraashara, Sage (veda)Vyaasa, Shuka, Gaudapaada, Govinda
Bhagavatpaada, Shankara Bhagavatpaada… then from Sri Shankara via his four
disciples up to present day, our own Gurudev and Guruji who can lay claim via
the Srinegeri Math (Saraswati name).
