ADVENTURES IN ADVAITA VEDANTA...

Adventures in Advaita Vedanta, the philosophy and science of spirit. We are one you and I; are you curious why?..

Who I Am

Hari OM
'Text-days' are for delving into the words and theory of Advaita Vedanta.

The following comes from writings of Guru-ji, Swami Tejomayananda-ji. Source: Living as the Self a prasaada pushtika/gift booklet. The layout is his.

Scriptures and saints say…live as THE SELF.
BUT How?
Once born we acquire several
identities…
personalities…
relationships…
and roles.
We work to become great…
We crave what we don’t have…
Don't value what we have…
Experience jealousy with what others have…
No matter what…we sense limitations…
AND these we don’t like.

THINK…Who is this that says – ‘I’ AM:
  •  the body
  •  a feeling (happiness)
  •  an attribute (tall)
  •  a weakness (fearful)
  •  a strength (powerful)
  •  a qualification (a doctor)

Am ‘I’ these descriptions?
If I drop these descriptions, then who am I?

Vedanta says, who I Am…
Not the descriptions of ‘I’ (ego).
ONCE we know the Self,
gone will be all…
fear…anxiety…sorrow…attachment.
We will live in the body just as
MY OWN SELF.
THE REAL YOU!!!

The SELF IS SPIRIT…
Its nature is changeless.
The body is matter…
Subject to change.

The Wise Man knows he is NOT
the FINITE…EVER-CHANGING body/mind.
Hence…he does not feel any limitations…
does not fear change.
Living fearlessly…loving all…
He is fulfilled and happy
…independent of anyone or thing.
Living as MY Self…
with nothing more to do.
What is to be known…is known
What is to be gained is gained.
This is Living in WISDOM…

…LIBERATION.
