Glitches

Hari Om
'Freedays' are the 'gather our thoughts' days; Q&As; a general review of the week so far…

An 'administrative' post today.

It came to attention that there was a glitch in the system which auto-posts these entries to the Google Plus page, from which quite a few readers drop in. Having discovered the error and thereafter batch-posting the missing entries, those who had thought there to be a blank seem to have been able to catch up. It is sincerely hoped that the glitch has been 'unglitched' and manual efforts do not have to continue. It is not an onerous task, but just one more thing which has to be thought of.

The best way to guarantee not missing posts, however, is to 'follow' with the tool in the sidebar - or the 'don't miss a thing' email option, which may bring the posts to you a little later.

The recent A-Z exercise brought a few more readers over to this page, for which, gratitude - and welcome! Those same posts are now being re-run here on AUM-days… upon which, another little technical hitch appears to be that Devanagari script does not seem to work if you are reading on a tablet (and presumably a phone); the guess would be that Android does not pick it up properly. This has only just been discovered and it is unclear whether this can be 'fixed'. For those few who are reading the Devanagari Sanskrit, it is suggested you reserve the post until you can access it from a laptop.

It is certainly gratifying that the posts generated a significant number of comments and discussion when presented elsewhere. However, it is the hope that here at AV-blog, that same level of questioning, observation, raising of doubts and open-hearted exchange could truly begin here. For those who are recently arrived, you are reminded of the message at the top, that you are best served by starting at the beginning. It is certainly possible to join in with current readings, but they will be more deeply appreciated by building the knowledge provided earlier and carrying out some of the suggested saadhanas. It bears continual repetition that Vedanta is a practical philosophy which lives through our putting its tenets into action.

True, for some, this can mean a radical change, for others, less so. As with anything, however, the rewards will always be a reflection of the effort exerted. There are limitations to exploration through the online medium, but it is a place to start. A spark is all that's required to build a fire.
