Advent is well underway. In Christian church communities around the globe, there will be various forms of celebration and prayers raised. One prayer of the Church of England could be applied within any philosophy; it is an appeal for self-lifting but with the support of the Higher aspects within us.
Look upon us in mercy, not in judgement;
draw us from hatred to love;
make the frailty of our praise
a dwelling place for your glory.
Amen.
