Each 'Choose-day' we will investigate
the process by which we can reassess our activity and interaction with the
world of plurality.

Finally, we take up point #6, You
needing others and others needing you are an illusion. No one needs anyone. A
strong and apparently contradictory statement, if we think in a communal
fashion. A great deal of saadhana actually points us towards learning to serve
others, to think of others, to be kind and gentle and worthy towards others,
all for the purpose of ensuring that we are truly part of our community, our
family and our fellow human society. There are so many examples of how humans
fare so much better when pulling together rather than apart.
In terms of Vedanta, however, or any high level of Philosophy, we
become aware of the fact that the individual does not exist. We are nothing but
fragmented parts of a whole, therefore the illusion of 'thee and me' is shattered. "I"
alone Am.
Thus, who is there to need? Who is it who needs?
What has this to do with choice? The first five parts of this series
provide the clues to this! If we understand our spiritual selves, seek to
improve them, and if we gain the Self-Knowledge, this part becomes clear to us.
In the meantime, stuck in our small individual selves, let us
continue being with others, helping others and being helped… just not losing
sight of our goal!
