Are there ways to provide seva (service) to the Guru, even at
distance and in absence?
Of course! Our saadhana, done with appropriate bhava, and offered up
to not only the Lord but to the Guru, will be considered as seva. A corrected
mind and heart focused on the true purpose of Vedanta cannot fail in this
regard.
